The WI State Senate Committee on Agriculture, Revenue and Financial Institutions has a public hearing today on bills that would change how the state defines milk, dairy and meat products.
Under the proposal, foods like almond milk and plant-based hamburgers would no longer be able to market themselves as a kind of milk or meat. Products would have to specifically come from an animal in order to be marketed as meat, milk, cheese or any other kind of dairy.
