IL Legislature Ends Session Passing Host of Major Bills & Balanced Budget

The IL legislature has concluded its session and passed a host of major bills including the first balanced budget in years, an unprecedented $45 billion investment in Illinois’ crumbling infrastructure, minimum wage hike, graduated income tax constitutional amendment, expansion of sports wagering and gaming, and the legalization of recreational cannabis.

Any of these bills on their own would require substantial struggle in a legislative session but they all passed the Assembly this spring.   Lawmakers also addressed some key manufacturing issues and passed an extension of the Research & Development credit in addition to creating of a new apprenticeship credit to help manufacturers address their workforce needs.
