MN Gov. Tim Walz focused his first State of the State address on how the policies he hopes to enact will impact everyday Minnesotans. Entering the fourth month of his term, the Democratic governor addressed a joint session of the Legislature on Wednesday night.
Walz did not use a script or teleprompter and instead used personal stories of several of his invited guests to highlight programs in his plan without mentioning spending. The governor highlighted education, health care, stronger communities and transportation.
Also absent from his speech were costs of any of his policy asks from his broad One Minnesota proposals still being debated and worked on by lawmakers.
